    Foods That Reduce Stress and Anxiety

    So many people have experienced stress and anxiety at some point in their life. There are so many things that could help reduces anxiety naturally without taking any medications. Such as listening to calming music or doing some yoga.

    Exercise helps improve anxiety and depression. Also, some foods could help reduce the symptoms of stress and anxiety by boosting brain health.

    Here are the best foods that reduce stress and anxiety

    1- Dark Chocolate

    Dark chocolate contains antioxidants which benefit the brain function.

    It helps to improve the blood flow to the brain, which promotes the ability to cope with stressful situations.

    Eating dark chocolate daily also helps in improving the levels of stress hormones, which is commonly associated with anxiety.

    Including some dark chocolate into your daily diet could help in easing anxiety.

    2- Green tea

    Green tea is a good source of an amino acid ( L-theanine ), which has positive effects on brain health and anxiety reduction. A study found that L-theanine also helps in decreasing the levels of the stress hormone linked with anxiety.

    Green tea also contains an antioxidant (EGCG) which helps in promoting brain health. 

    3- Nuts

    Nuts such as almonds are rich in magnesium which consider an effective treatment for anxiety. Magnesium helps in reducing the level of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain, which helps regulate sleep and support good mood.

    4- Omega-3-rich foods

    Omega-3-rich foods such as salmon, sardines provide two essential fatty acids: DHA and EPA. They can reduce inflammation and promote healthy brain function.

    5- Yoghurt

    You may be surprised that yoghurt is among the food, which reduces anxiety. Yoghurt is a superb source of probiotics. A study has shown that probiotics that we usually use to help in digestion could help in reducing stress levels.

    Another study which examined people to see the effect of probiotics on anxiety has shown that people who consumed yoghurt showed a significant reduction in stress level and negative attitude.

    
     

    6- Avocado

    Avocado rich in vitamin B, which has positive effects on the nervous system.

    Vitamin B5, B6, B9, B12 supports the adrenal glands, balancing out depressive moods which, reduces stress and anxiety levels.

    Foods are rich in vitamin B: meats, liver, whole grains, bananas, potatoes.

    So if you want to soothe your anxiety, make sure that you include some of the foods above in your daily diet.

    Food has a significant effect on the way we feel because what you eat affects your brain. Some foods may soothe you like drinking chamomile some other food may cause you more stress such as caffeine and alcohol.
