Hair has a long-term growth cycle that includes three stages:
Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. However, before we go through how to grow hair fast, you need to know some information.
Hair normally grows, in the Anagen stage, at a rate of about a half-inch a month. This is an average figure and may vary with individual cases.
Hair growth stages
1- Anagen Stage
The Anagen stage is the period of active growth. The cells located at the very root of the hair start to divide in fast succession and hair growth during this stage can be up to 3/4 inch a month. Hair can remain in this stage of the cycle for between two and seven years.
2- Catagen Stage
During the Catagen stage of the hair growth cycle, blood flow to the hair is restricted, and the hair stops growing. Even though it has stopped growing the hair remains attached to the root.
3- Telogen Stage
This is the resting stage of the hair cycle, and during this stage, the hair remains attached to the follicle. While new hair is growing underneath. Eventually, the hair in the Telogen stage pushes out to make way for new hair, and the cycle begins anew with the new hair.
So, the period where the hair is growing is the Anagen stage; during the other two stages, there will be no growth. Remember hairs in the various stages will be spread evenly over the entire head, so falling hairs become less noticeable.

Indirect methods of simulating hair growth
Drink enough water or the cells in your hairs will not reproduce, and the hair will not grow.
Change your diet
Your body needs protein to grow your hair, especially Keratin. Eating a diet of lean meat, nuts, and lentils will assist your body in growing healthy hair. Look for foods that have a high natural vitamin A content. These foods include sweet potatoes and cabbage.
If your body’s defence mechanisms think your body is struggling in some way, it will divert nutrients and vitamins to the area that seems to struggle, instead of sending them to your hair. Consequently, In extreme cases, this can cause your hair to fall.
Watch what you drink
An excess of fizzy drinks and alcohol can reduce your hair growth. Therefore, it is vital to consider swapping fizzy drinks and alcohol with other healthier drinks.
Direct hair treatments
People think about shampoo incorrectly. The shampoo is there to cleans your scalp and roots as well as your hair. It is less about the hair and more about the scalp. Conditioner is there primarily for your hair. Make sure you use the correct shampoo. Identify your type of hair and only use shampoos created for that hair-type, ideally containing vitamins A, B, C, and E. These vitamins will nourish your hair and scalp.
Choose the right shampoo for your scalp type
There is a massive choice of shampoo types. First, recognize the type of hair you have and then stick with a product that claims to deal with that issue.
If your scalp is oily, there is a possibility that when a hair falls in the Telogen stage, the follicle becomes blocked and the replacement hair never emerges. With an oily scalp avoid shampoos that are moisturizing or volumizing as these shampoos will worsen your oily scalp.
If your scalp is dry and flaky, look for moisturizing shampoos which will rehydrate your scalp. Also, it is very important to avoid shampoos with sulfates in them, as these will dry your scalp.
The aim of any type of treatment to promote hair growth/or reduce hair loss is to promote a healthy scalp. This can be done by shampoos as just discussed or by directly massaging the scalp. Carry out a daily scalp massage to stimulate the flow of blood to the hair follicles. Make this a part of your daily hair care routine.
Hair growth products
As stated earlier, hair grows pretty consistently at 1/2 inch a month. Likewise, you will lose a proportion of your hair each month as it reaches the Telogen stage in its cycle. It follows that many products designed to grow your hair will concentrate on reducing the hair loss.

There is a difference between promoting hair growth and restoring hair to a completely bald head that has not seen hair in years. In the latter case, none of the treatments will work as you will no longer have functioning hair follicles. Because, your scalp will have healed over, and however much you stimulate your scalp, it will have no effect.
