    Almond Flour Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free)

    Love chocolate desserts? This almond flour chocolate cake is fudgy, chocolaty and easy to make. This recipe is a twist to the traditional chocolate cake recipe by using almond flour instead of the regular flour.

    This chocolate almond flour cake calls for few and simple ingredients, it is gluten free, sugar free and keto friendly. Serve it with a cup of Thyme Tea or Cucumber Water.

    To make this sugar free chocolate cake recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

    • Dry ingredients: Almond flour, powdered erythritol, baking powder and unsweetened cocoa powder.
    • Wet ingredients: Butter, eggs, vanilla extract and unsweetened chocolate.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Top the cake with chocolate ganache, cream cheese frosting, whipped cream or some fresh fruits.
    • For extra chocolate flavor, top your cake with some dark chocolate chips.
    • Use any sugar substitute you have at home, such as Swerve or Monk fruit.
    • You may use melted coconut oil or olive oil instead of butter.
    • Use large eggs at room temperature to mix well with the other ingredients.
    • You can sweeten this cake with a natural sweetener, such as honey or maple syrup.

    How To Make Gluten Free Almond Flour Chocolate Cake

    One: Preheat the oven to 180C/ 356F and line the bottom of a 20 cm springform pan or cake pan with parchment paper.

    Beat the eggs with an electric mixer until foamy.

    Two: In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with an electric mixer until foamy and doubled in size, add the Sugar substitute and whisk until combined (photo 1).

    Microwave both the butter and chocolate until melt.

    Three: In a small bowl, put both the butter and chocolate then, microwave for few seconds until they melt (photo 2).

    Stir butter and chocolate well until combined.

    Four: Take the butter and chocolate out from the microwave and stir them well until combined (photo 3).

    Add almond flour and baking powder to the beaten egg .

    Five: Add the almond flour and baking powder to the beaten egg (photo 4).

    Add the melted butter and chocolate to almond flour mixture.

    Six: Finally, add the melted butter and chocolate to almond flour and egg, then stir well with spatula until combined (photo 5).

    Pour the cake batter into the cspringform.

    Seven: Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes. Leave the cake to cool on a wire rack before releasing from the cake tin (photo 6).

    Eight: Once the cake cooled, dust with some powdered erythritol and unsweetened cocoa powder.

    Expert Tips!

    • If you don't have sweetener powder, use the food processor to turn some granulated sweetener into a powder.
    • When melting the butter and chocolate don't overheat them. Just a few seconds in the microwave or on the stove on low heat then, let it entirely melt by stirring occasionally.
    • Use high-quality unsweetened chocolate, 100% cocoa.
    • This keto chocolate cake has simple ingredients. If you like to make it more nutritious, you can add some nuts to it.
    • Don't skip the baking powder; it helps the cake to rise.
    • For best results, use almond flour, not almond meal.

    How To store

    Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge; they will last for 2-3 days or freeze for 1-2 months.

    Can i use baking soda instead of baking powder?

    No, this recipe calls for baking powder.

    Can I add liquid sweetener to this cake instead of powder?

    Yes, you can. However, don't add too much for not running the cake texture.

    Can I use coconut flour instead of almond flour?

    No, both coconut flour and almond flour at different. Coconut flour has a high fiber which results in a thick and dense cake, while almond flour is much lighter, which results in a fluffy cake.

    Can I make this cake dairy free?

    Yes, you can. Just replace the use non-dairy butter or replace it with coconut oil. Also, make sure to use dairy-free chocolate.

    Ingredients

    • 300 g Unsweetened chocolate
    • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
    • 6 Eggs
    • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
    • ½ cup Almond flour
    • 300 g Butter , unsalted
    • 1 ½ cups Powdered erythritol

    • Take the butter and chocolate out from the microwave and stir them well until combined.
    • Add the almond flour and baking powder to the beaten egg.
      ½ cup Almond flour, 1 tablespoon Baking powder
    • Finally, add the melted butter and chocolate to almond flour and egg, then stir well with spatula until compined.
    • Pour the batter into the springform and bake for 40-45 minutes. Leave the cake to cool before releasing from the cake tin.
