Start with cutting out the tops of the green peppers and discard the seeds.
Then, in a large skillet, heat the oil and then add the minced onion, beef and all the spices (salt, black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, basil) and cook for 5-10 minutes or until beef is brown.
Add the tomato sauce and keep cooking until the beef is fully cooked.
Now, stuff the green pepper with layers of cooked beef and mozzarella cheese (the top layer must be cheese).
Place the green pepper in a baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, then uncover and bake for 5-10 minutes more. Enjoy
Notes
Use large bell peppers to be able to stuff them without making a mess.
For a vegetarian option, just skip the beef or replace it with leftover rice, black beans or cauliflower rice.
For best results, use extra lean ground beef.
Variations
Add some fresh herbs, such as cilantro, parsley or basil.
Add some heat to the filling and add a pinch of red pepper flakes or chili powder.
Use ground turkey, chicken, or lamb instead of ground beef.
