Incredibly quick and easy cream cheese Cherry Danish made with puff pastry in just 20 minutes! Flaky, sweet, and SO delicious. I serve it for breakfast, snacks or dessert.
Prepare the cream cheese: In a small mixing bowl, mix together cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla extract.
Prepare the egg wash: whisk together an egg with a tablespoon of water.
Preheat the oven to 180C/ 350F.
Prepare the puff pastry: Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6 squares, then use a knife to make a ½” border around the edge of each of the puff pastry squares.
Make four or five pricks inside the border of each square.
Now, scoop 1-2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture and place it into the center of each pastry square.
Top with 1-2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling, then brush edges with egg wash.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
Notes
If puff pastry becomes too soft to work with, put it into the fridge for 10-15 minutes or until it firms up again. Soft puff pastry is super hard to work with.
