Instructions
In a bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and nutmeg, set aside.
Now, spread a teaspoon of the cream cheese onto one side of the toast slices.
Sprinkle chopped strawberries and bananas on half of the toast slices (save some fruit for garnish).
Place another slice of toast on top, making a sandwich (keep cream cheese side down).
Preheat a pan on low - medium heat, grease with butter.
Dip sandwiches into the milk mixture, coating all sides.
Place on the skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side (cook the edges as well).
Garnish with chopped fruit, maple syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
Notes
You can switch up the regular bread with whole wheat or multi-grain bread for healthier alternatives.
I recommend using stale bread; it absorbs the custard better.
