Rich, savory, warm, and comforting, this old-fashioned savoury mince is a classic British dish loaded with veggies and Italian herbs. It is versatile, family-friendly and perfect for meal prep and freezing!
Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry onions and garlic until soft.
1 tablespoon Olive Oil, 3 cloves Garlic, 1 Onion
Stir in minced beef, dried Italian herbs, salt and pepper.
450 g Minced Beef, 2 teaspoon Dried Italian Herbs
Use a wooden spoon to break up the mince; once the beef becomes brown, stir in the flour and cook for a minute. Then add Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree and beef stock.
Simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
Finally, stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes more until the vegetables are soft.
150 g Frozen Mixed Vegetables
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
If you are batch cooking this recipe to store in the freezer, don't add the frozen vegetables yet. Just add them when you are already reheating the dish to serve.
