These Sauteed Whole Mushrooms are juicy and delicious. A quick and easy dish takes less than 15 mins and is loaded with butter, garlic and fresh herbs.
Firstly, I prefer to clean the mushrooms with a wet kitchen towel before I cook them. Then add butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
300 g mushrooms, 2 tablespoon butter, 2 tablespoon olive oil
Once the butter melts, I add the minced garlic, mushrooms, salt, pepper and thyme then cook for about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
3 cloves garlic, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 2 sprigs fresh thyme
When the mushroom fully cooked and has that beautiful brown colour turn off the heat.
After that pour the lemon juice over it and garnish with some thyme or chopped parsley.
juice of a half lemon, 1 tablespoon parsley
Finally serve.
Notes
Use any kind of mushroom you like Portobello, Oyster or White button.
Slice it and use it as a burger or steak topping.
For best results, don't rinse the mushrooms. If you rinse them, they will absorb water and release it while cooking, resulting in a bad texture to the dish.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
Variations
You may add some dried herbs such as basil, sage or rosemary.
Add some veggies such as asparagus, green beans or broccoli.
