Egyptian Goulash (Phyllo Meat Pie)
This Egyptian Goulash or Phyllo meat pie is a soft, super flaky and delicious layer of phyllo sheets greased with butter and stuffed with flavourful minced beef baked in a whole cup of milk and eggs.

The Filling

minced beef

Instructions
In a pot, add the meat, minced onion and some water over a medium to high heat.
Break the meat apart then add all the spices then cook until fully cooked then set aside.
Grease a baking dish with butter, then lay two sheets of the phyllo dough on the baking dish then brush the top sheet with melted butter.
Repeat this step until you finish half of the phyllo sheets.
Spread the minced beef to cover the phyllo sheet evenly.
Then, lay the remaining half of the sheets brushing every two with melted butter.
Carefully, cut the phyllo pie with a sharp knife.
Whisk the milk, eggs, salt and pepper then set aside.
Now, start baking at 190 C for 2 minutes then take it out of the oven.
Pour the milk mixture over the hot phyllo pie evenly then put it back in the oven for another 20-25 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
Notes
There are a variety of savoury options to stuff the phyllo sheets with, such as,
Spinach
: Cooked spinach mixed with ricotta.
Cheese
: Feta cheese mixed with tomatoes and olives.
Chicken
: Cooked chicken mixed with some olives, tomatoes and bell peppers.
