Put oats and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat and cook for 3-4 minutes( stirring often) until the mixture starts to thicken.
Turn off the heat and stir in peanut butter and cinnamon.
Transfer it into a serving bowl, top with banana slices, maple syrup and some chopped peanuts if you wish.

Notes
Your bruising, unused, and uneaten ripe bananas don't have to waste away on your kitchen counter. Grab some of it and use it for this recipe as it is two times sweeter than the newly ripened bananas.
Don't add too much milk in cooking the oats unless you want to make the recipe runny and watery instead of thick and creamy.
You can use rolled oats or porridge oats for this recipe, as both will make a thick and creamy porridge.
Variations
Instead of topping your porridge with maple syrup, you may use brown sugar instead. It will not only make your porridge sweeter but would also make it appear thicker.
For a creamier and thicker porridge, consider using whole milk instead.
Consider adding cocoa powder or melted white chocolate to give this recipe a chocolatey sweet taste.
