Learn how to make Cinnamon Toast in just four steps. It is an easy dessert or snack filled with flavor and has a texture that would brighten up your day.
In a small bowl, mash the softened butter with a fork and add in sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Stir until well combined.
Spread the mixture equally over the bread.
Place toast on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
If you want a cinnamon toast that has a subtle flavor and excellent texture, you should use white bread. White bread has a mild taste that can be a perfect base for the cinnamon mixture. This bread also retains its great texture even after toasting.
Make sure that the butter you will be using for this recipe is at room temperature, otherwise, it will not give the desired texture to the toast. Butter at room temperature will mix well with the other ingredients and will be evenly applied to the bread.
Spread just enough of the cinnamon mixture onto the bread. Heavily spreading the mixture on the bread will result in a soggy toast instead of the crisp Cinnamon Toast we are aiming for.
Variation
Add a pinch of salt to the mixture before spreading it onto the bread slices. The salt will give a balance note to all the flavors present in the mixture.
Add some nutmeg and cloves for a spicy kick to your Cinnamon Toast! The spice of nutmeg and cloves will just blend well with that of the cinnamon.
Use powdered sugar for dusting the toasts after baking.
To store: Keep this Cinnamon Toast at room temperature for a day. Frozen or storing it for longer is not suitable because it is best to enjoy this toast fresh from the oven.
