These simple Halloween cookies are scary, cute, fun and can be made without cookie cutters they are perfect for Halloween parties or to give to trick or treaters.
Preparations: 1- Preheat the oven to 175C / 340F and line a baking sheet with parchment pepper.
Cream the sugar and butter together using the electric hand mixer or even a fork.
¾ cup granulated sugar,
½ cup butter
Add the egg and vanilla extract, whisk.
1 teaspoon vanilla extract,
In another bowl, combine flour, matcha, baking powder and salt.
1 ½ cups plain flour,
1 tablespoon matcha,
1 teaspoon baking powder,
¼ teaspoon salt
Add the flour mixture to the previous mixture and mix well until combined.
Cover the dough with plastic wrap then put in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours or for the next day if you like.
Remove the plastic wrap and cut the dough to four parts.
Place the first part between two parchment paper sheets and roll out the dough using the rolling pin until it is in a suitable thickness (about ¼ inch).
Cut the dough using a circular dough cutter then keep doing the same process with the other dough parts.
Decorate the cookies with candy eyes and sprinkles.
Place the cookie in the baking sheets then bake for 8-10 minutes.
Leave the cookies to cool down for ten minutes.
Don't over-bake the cookies, so they don't become dry and crack
If you don't like to use matcha for any reason, you can use one or two drops of green food colour instead.
Chilling the dough is so important, don't skip it.
M&Ms or Halloween M&Ms
: Both M&Ms or Halloween M&Ms look nice on the cookies.
: Is an icing used to decorate cake or cookies that is made of sugar, water, fat and gelatin. It is easy to use, and it gives a lovely texture and look to the dessert.
: I usually use the Halloween colours such as red, orange or black on frosting or in the dessert dough.
: These sprinkles have two colours, orange and black, and they look great on top of Halloween desserts.
: I love them because they give the cookies or any Halloween treats a scary look!
: These chocolate sprinkles look good on Halloween cookies or cake.
: These tiny balls made with sugar and starch, and they are available in many colours; they are absolutely amazing in decorating such cookies.
