Chocolate Covered Pecans is the simplest and easiest treat you can make at home that offers all the chocolatey goodness mixed with a satisfying nutty crunch.
Heat a small pan on low heat and add pecan. Toast for about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
40 Pecans
In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips for 10-20 seconds, until melted.
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
As soon as the chocolate is melted, dip pecans in the chocolate one at a time, coating half of the pecan and placing them in a single layer on parchment paper.
Allow chocolate to harden, then serve.
Notes
The chocolates coating the pecans will melt after a few hours when you cover them in them, hence it is best to store these nuts in the fridge to avoid melting.
Double the chocolatey goodness by adding melted white chocolate alongside your melted chocolate chips!
You may melt a minimal amount of butter in the pan before you toast your pecans, the butter will add a delicate flavor to your pecans without lessening their crunchiness.
Be generous in the amount of chocolate you coat all over the pecans, the more chocolate, the more delicious your nuts will be!
For the chocolates to thoroughly harden around the pecans, freeze your Chocolate Covered Pecans for two to three hours. Cold, crunchy, still delicious to munch.
Recipe Variations
Some folks love a slight saltiness to this dish, consider sprinkling a little bit of salt to your melted chocolate chips.
If you prefer a little bit of spice instead of saltiness, you may want to add a tiny amount of ground cinnamon to your melted chocolate chips before coating it all over your toasted pecans.
For a sweet and spicy flavor, consider adding paprika or cayenne pepper.
You may add some sprinkles on top of the chocolate covered pecans.
There are a few of us who love milk chocolate instead of classic dark chocolate. If you are one of the milk chocolate lovers, you may love to substitute your chocolate chips with milk chocolate.
Feel free to drizzle with caramel on top.
Add in chopped dried cranberries or another dried fruit into melted chocolate.
