In a pan, mix peas, garlic, and butter over medium heat.
1 cup peas, 2 tablespoon butter, 2 cloves garlic
Cook for 2-4 minutes or until the peas are heated through (stir occasionally).
Add the water, turn down the heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the peas are cooked to your liking. Remove from the heat, add salt and pepper and serve.
1 tablespoon water, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Notes
Retain over medium heat when cooking this dish because the butter can easily get burned, giving off a bitter taste and ruining the texture we want.
To make this dish vegan, all you have to do is to use vegan-friendly butter.
If you intend to use fresh peas, I recommend buying small peas, which are sweeter, softer and less starchy.
To store: Keep leftovers in an airtight container before refrigerating for up to three days.Should I boil the frozen peas? No, you don't have to boil them. However, some love their green peas as soft rather than crisp. If you love that version, boil the frozen green peas to a little softness before using them for this recipe.
