Karkade (Hibiscus Iced Tea)
Karkade (hibiscus tea) is a popular herbal tea in Egypt and Sudan. It has a sweet, tart taste and deep red colour, and it is super delicious, hot or cold.

dried hibiscus flowers

granulated sugar
Instructions
In a large saucepan, add the water and the dried hibiscus flowers and bring to a boil.
Keep boiling for 5-10 more minutes over high heat, then turn the heat off.
Set a fine-mesh strainer over a large bowl. Pour the tea through the strainer and then discard the hibiscus flowers.
Add the sugar and stir until dissolved, then let it cool completely.
Pour the hibiscus tea into a bottle or jug using a funnel, then refrigerate until cold and serve. Enjoy!
