Christmas blondies are a cheerful, colourful, and easy Christmas dessert. They are studded with chocolate, Oreos, and Christmas M&Ms. YUM! These easy Christmas holiday blondies are soft, chewy, and my go-to dessert at holiday parties.
Christmas Blondies
I like to gift a batch of these Christmas blondies to my neighbour every year; it is a tradition in my family!
If you are unfamiliar with blondies, they are a sweet dessert similar to brownies. It almost has the same ingredients except for the cocoa powder. Also, brown sugar is a must in making blondies.
I like this recipe because it is SO festive and delicious, it has a superb taste and texture, and it is incredibly easy to make. Also, my kids ADORE them!
Ingredients
Note: This is an overview of the ingredients. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Sugar: I highly recommend using brown sugar; it adds a caramel-like flavor to these blondies and makes them rich and soft.
Flour: I used all-purpose flour.
Eggs: I used 2 large eggs at room temperature.
Butter: I used unsalted butter.
Vanilla extract: Use a small dash of vanilla extract to flavour.
Baking powder: It helps the blondies texture to be soft.
Christmas M&M's: They come in pretty green and red colours.
Oreos: I used chocolate Oreos.
Chocolate chips: I used milk chocolate chips.
How to make the best Christmas blondies?
One: Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
Two: In a mixing bowl, mix together sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
Three: Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until incorporated.
Four: Finally, fold in M&Ms, Oreos, and chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly in the baking pan.
Five: Bake for 30-35 minutes, let it cool, and cut it into squares.
Pro Tip: Don't overbake it; otherwise, it will crack and come out dry.
Variations
- Instead of M&M's and Oreos, you can add just chocolate chips and caramel chunks.
- Replace vanilla extract with almond extract.
Storage
To store: These blondies can be kept at room temperature for 1-2 days. If you want to extend their shelf life, keep them in the fridge for 3-4 days. You may also freeze them for 1-2 months.
