Strawberry Milk Tea, as the name implies, showcases a strawberry flavor. But since the strawberry is in the form of strawberry milk in this boba recipe, the taste is so milky and creamy with the texture of tapioca balls.
I also sweetened this recipe with a bit of sugar. The recipe is the right balance of creamy and thick, but not quite as thick as a milkshake.

Sugar. A little bit of sweetening is needed to improve the taste.
Tapioca Pearls. I bought them from an Asian grocery store.
How To Make Strawberry Milk Tea (Boba)?
One - Steep the tea: In a small jug, add half a cup of boiling water and the tea bag and let the tea infuse.
Two - Cook the boba: In a small saucepan, fill halfway with water and bring to a boil, then pour in the tapioca pearls.
Three: Stir to prevent the tapioca pearls from sticking to one another, cook for 10 minutes. After that, strain the pearls and rinse with cold water.
Four: Now discard the tea bag and stir in the sugar until it dissolves.
Five - Make the milk tea: Place the cooked pearls in a glass, then top with strawberry milk and tea, then serve.
Expert Tips!
- When boiling, tapioca pearls tend to stick together. To prevent this, stir frequently.
- Flavor your tapioca pearls: After boiling your tapioca pearls, you should consider pouring brown sugar all over them to flavor a bit. But make sure that you have rinsed these tapioca pearls with cold water first.
- Feel free to serve it with some ice cubes, if you like.
- For best results, make bobs right before serving the drink to be fresh.
Vegan And Dairy-Free Options
To make this recipe dairy-free and vegan, use homemade or store-bought non-dairy strawberry milk. To make homemade non-dairy strawberry milk, blend 1 cup of fresh strawberry with 1 cup of plant-based milk like oat milk, almond milk or coconut milk and then strain the mixture.
Can I Prepare The Tapioca Pearls In Advance?
Leaving boiled tapioca pearls longer than an hour anywhere— be that inside a fridge or on your kitchen counter, will harden it and would be unpleasant to chew. Hence, it is not advisable to prepare tapioca pearls in advance.
