Call them Oven baked donuts or cake donuts it doesn't matter. What really matters is that they are fluffy, spongy and healthy. They are dipped in a thick chocolate frosting and topped with joyful sprinkles.

These homemade oven baked donuts are so delicious and healthier than the deep-fried donuts; they could make an excellent dessert or breakfast.

Homemade Baked Donuts With Chocolate Frosting

This baked donut recipe is so simple; it requires just a few ingredients, most of them you likely have in your pantry already. Using greek yoghurt in this recipe makes the dounts so soft and delicious; I don't recommend removing it. Also, because this is a baked donut recipe, I use baking powder instead of yeast.

The Difference Between Cake Donuts And Yeast Donuts

The difference is only in the leavening agent. Cake dounts have a cakey texture and taste due to using baking powder or baking soda while yeast dounts have a chewy texture due to using yeast in making the donuts. So, what do you prefer: cake donuts or yeast donuts?
