What Is In This Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe?
White Potatoes. The base ingredient for this recipe. We will be baking the potatoes. Even though the mash tastes good without baking, baking the potatoes blends in the flavours deliciously and gives the mash an appealing golden look.
Cheddar Cheese. It will add a flavourful gooeyness to the dish. It adds an extra layer of taste to the potatoes that makes the recipe amazing.
Butter. Preferably use salted butter with this recipe to avoid bland mashed potatoes. In case you use unsalted butter, make sure that you season the recipe generously.
Milk. It adds a creamy flavour and texture to the recipe.
Garlic. It will be roasted in this recipe to change its texture and flavour. The garlic turns into a sweet and caramelized addition on doing this. Use fresh garlic for the best flavour.
Olive Oil. It will be used to roast the garlic for this recipe. Olive oil compliments the flavour of the garlic cloves and absorbs a little bit of its intensity which makes the garlic ideal for dressing.
Salt & Black Pepper. No recipe is complete without salt and pepper. There is of course no cap to the amount of salt & pepper that you can add; that depends on your tastebuds. Use freshly ground pepper for the best flavour.
Fresh parsley, to serve. Contrary to popular belief, fresh parsley aren’t just for garnishing. They actually add a herby refreshing flavour to the dish.
