    Keto Matcha Green Tea Mug Cake

    This matcha green tea cake is so fluffy and has a strong green tea flavour; it has a slightly sweet taste as the matcha flavour shines and helps to balance out the sweetness of the cake. Adding some chocolate chips on top of this matcha cake gives the flavour a sweet kick. It has a beautiful green colour which will charm you before you even taste it.

    I like the simplicity of this recipe, adding a few ingredients together, whisking, then microwave for 2 minutes, and there you are. This beautiful, matcha green tea mug cake is healthy and delicious.

    Matcha is a traditional Japanese tea which comes from the same plant as green tea, but it is produced from the whole leaf. Matcha has a slight bitterness along with a mild sweet flavour.

Studies have shown a lot of health benefits associated with consuming matcha, such as, the ability to improve heart health, promote brain functions along with the ability to help in preventing cancer as it contains a high amount of antioxidants.

    Colour: the best matcha powder should have a very bright green colour.

    Texture: if you rub the matcha green tea between your fingers, it must have a super smooth and fine texture.

    Odour: matcha has a fresh leaf smell.

    • Coconut flour

    • Swerve confectioners
    • Vanilla extract

    • Unsweetened chocolate chips

    This recipe makes one large mug or two small mugs.

    How To Make Matcha Green Tea Cake

    1. In a small bowl, add eggs and vanilla extract then whisk.
    2. Add almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, swerve, and matcha powder then keep whisking, make sure there are no lumps.
    3. Add the butter then whisk one more time.
    4. Pour the batter in a safe microwave mug then sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the mixture.
    5.  Microwave for 2 minutes.
