My garlic butter shrimp pasta is super creamy, delicious, and ready in less than 30 minutes.

I first prepare the rich and creamy garlic butter sauce using heavy cream and parmesan cheese, and then I toss the cooked pasta in. Ta-dh!

    Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

I had the shrimp in my fridge, and I wanted to make a pasta dish for dinner. So, here we are!

This dish is super simple and easy to put together, and my family LOVES IT.

I've tried this recipe with raw shrimp, and today, to make it even more convenient, I used pre-cooked shrimp and tossed it with some seasonings. However, I like to use large shrimp in both cases.

This recipe doesn't need any cornstarch to thicken the creamy sauce; I simply like to thicken it with cheese.

    You'll Need

    all the ingredients

Fettuccine pasta: I like to use fettuccine; however, you can use spaghetti if you want.

Shrimp: I used jumbo pre cooked shrimp, you can use any kind you prefer.

Garlic: In this recipe, I use two cloves minced garlic to give the shrimp and sauce nice flavour.

Heavy cream: giving the sauce the rich and creamy texture.

Parmesan cheese: I use shredded Parmesan cheese to thicken the sauce and add a lovely cheese flavour to it.

Butter, olive oil: Cooking with both will maximise the flavour.

Salt, ground pepper and paprika: Seasonings for lovely taste.

    Parsley: Finely chopped for garnishing.

    How To Make The Recipe

nine steps of making this recipe

Preparing the shrimp: sprinkle salt, pepper and paprika over the shrimp, coat well then set aside.

Cooking the pasta: In boiling salted water cook the pasta according to the pack instructions then drain.

Making the sauce: In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter once the butter melts add the onion, cook for one minute until the onion becomes translucent, stirring occasionally.

    Now, add the garlic, stir.

Add the heavy cream, water and stock cube, bring to a boil.

Tip: To make the sauce thicker add more cheese to the heavy cream while hot and vice versa, to make the sauce thinner add less cheese to the sauce.

Add the parmesan cheese and the shrimp, lower the heat and cook for 2-3 minutes then turn off the heat and add the pasta, mix well then garnish with parsley. Serve immediately.
