I love cooking pasta because it makes a nice and quick dinner and I can almost add anything to it such as vegetables, chicken or beef. I will never forget the first time I made this shrimp pasta recipe, my youngest daughter told me "mom, can you make this recipe again tomorrow!" she loved it so much.
This recipe is so satisfying plus it comes together in no time. Actually, this recipe is an easy way to serve up fabulous Chinese style pasta that will amaze your family.
Shrimp And Mushroom Pasta Ingredients
- Shrimp, peeled
- pasta
- Olive oil
- Bell pepper
- Carrot, grated
- Cilantro, chopped
- Mushrooms, sliced
Sauce
- Sesame oil
- Soy sauce
- Oyster sauce
- Garlic, minced
- Brown sugar
- Fresh ginger, minced
How to Make Shrimp And Mushroom Pasta?
Preparing the sauce: Mix brown sugar, minced ginger, oyster sauce, minced garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil, then set aside.
Cooking the pasta: In a pot full of salted water, cook the pasta until fully cooked.
Cooking the vegetables: In a large skillet, add olive oil and all the mushrooms to cook for 1 minute, then add the bell pepper, carrot and cilantro also, add half of the sauce, then continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Combine everything: Stir in the shrimp and cook for 4 more minutes.
After that, add the pasta and the other half of the sauce; keep stirring for another 2 minutes. Serve hot.
Tips and Variations
- Add some fresh basil along with cilantro for extra flavour.
- You may add more veggies such as spinach, green beans or celery.
- Make it spicy by adding 1-2 hot red chilli or just ¼ teaspoon red pepper flacks or chilli powder.
- Replace oyster sauce with Worcestershire sauce or Hoisin Sauce.
Storage
To store: Store leftovers in the fridge for 1-2 days.
Reheating: Reheat in the microwave.

- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
