    Crispy Chicken Patties

I love to make my chicken patties at home; they are way better than store-bought ones. I got to choose leaner and healthier chicken cuts, fresher seasonings and good-quality ingredients.

These crispy Chicken Patties have a crispy exterior and a juicy, tender chicken meat interior. The seasoning is just right, with hints of savory herbs and spices that I am sure you will love.

These crispy chicken patties make a quick, easy, filling lunch, side dish, or snack.

Also, this recipe is meal-prep and freezer-friendly! You can make this recipe ahead of time or make it in bulk. You just have to store it in the freezer once it is ready to fry!

    Ingredients

Note: This is an overview of the ingredients. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

Cooked chicken breast. I am using an already-cooked chicken breast, you may use any leftovers cooked chicken you have. Cooked chicken is also easier to blitz, thus giving your patty a more uniform texture and shape.

Eggs. Your patty will fall apart without eggs binding the chicken bits together. + Eggs help make the patties more tender and less dry.

Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise keeps the insides of your patty moist, giving it a more juicy texture!

Dijon mustard: It adds a delicious flavor.

Seasonings: I used dried thyme, cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt.

Olive oil. Olive oil has a higher smoke point that can withstand the heat needed in frying this dish. You can use vegetable oil, canola oil, or sunflower oil instead.

    Garlic. Adds a delicious flavor.

Breadcrumbs. To give the patties a crispy texture.

How To Make Crispy Chicken Patties

Put all the ingredients in the food processor and blitz until combined.

One: In the food processor's bowl, add the chicken, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic, eggs and all the seasonings and blitz until combined.

Shape the patties and fry in the oil.

Two: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Scoop ¼ cup of the chicken mixture per patty, shape into a patty and dredge in the breadcrumbs.

Tip: You may place the patties in the fridge for 30 minutes before frying to let them hold their shape better when placed in the hot oil.

Three: Cook for 3-4 minutes, then flip carefully on the other side and cook for 2-3 minutes more or until crispy and have a golden brown color.

Tip: Use a wire rack to cool your fried patties. This will prevent them from getting soggy.

Four: Transfer to a serving plate and serve immediately.

Can I Bake The Chicken Patties?

Yes, you can always opt to bake them in the oven instead of frying them. Some even think baking this recipe is more convenient than frying.

Preheat your oven to 400°F before placing the patties on a baking sheet. Make sure it has been lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking! Then bake for 15-20 minutes or until crispy.

    Recipe Variations

    • Mix grated Parmesan cheese into your chicken patty mixture for a cheesy and savory twist that you’ll surely love to the core. The cheesy and crispy texture works so well together.
    • Have you ever tried a BBQ chicken patty? You are missing a lot if you haven’t yet. Mix BBQ sauce with the patty mixture for a tangy and sweet BBQ flavor!

    Serving Suggestions

Make a crispy chicken sandwich out of this chicken patty. Serve it on a bun along with tomato slices, lettuce, and cheese for a perfect sandwich!

You can also consider serving these patties on top of a bowl of Turmeric Rice.

    Storage

To store: These Crispy Fried Chicken patties can be refrigerated for 3-4 days in an airtight container.

To freeze: Leftover chicken patties can stay in the freezer for up to 3 months too. If you are going to store an uncooked patty, you can’t let it stay in the fridge for so long. You have to freeze it, and it can last for up to three months too.
