Keto Magic Cinnamon Sticks Recipe
These cinnamon sticks are one of my favourite low-carb snacks or desserts when I crave something sweet.
Mozzarella cheese plays an essential role in this recipe and gives the dough a soft texture.
These sticks are totally savoury without the topping; I love to top them with a mixture of ground cinnamon and powdered Erythritol, which makes them incredibly delicious and have the right sweetness.
Ingredients
Note: This is an overview of the ingredients. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
The ingredients I used in making this recipe are:
Cheese: I use both cream cheese and Mozzarella cheese in making these cinnamon sticks.
Sugar free maple syrup: You may use your favorite sweetener instead.
Dry yeast: If you don't have dry yeast or don't want to use it, you can replace it with 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
Butter: For a rich flavor.
Salt: Just a pinch.
Almond flour: I highly recommend using almond flour for the best texture.
Eggs: I used 2 large eggs.
Cinnamon sweetener mixture: I use a mixture of ground cinnamon and powdered Erythritol as a topping.
How To Make Keto Magic Cinnamon Sticks
One: Preheat the oven to 180C / 350F and line a 22cm baking pan with parchment paper.
Two: Add 5 tablespoons of slightly warm water to the dry yeast, then stir well and add the maple syrup, cover the cup and set it aside.
Three: In a mixing bowl put mozzarella and cream cheese then microwave them for 20 seconds or until the mozzarella cheese melts.
Four: Add almond flour to the cheese then mix while it's still hot. Then, add the eggs and salt; continue mixing until well combined.
Five: Add the dry yeast mixture to the dough and mix well. Cover the dough and set it aside to rest for 20 minutes.
Six: Spread the dough in the baking tray then bake for 20-25 minutes.
Seven: In a small bowl, mix the ground cinnamon and powdered Erythritol and set aside. Once it's fully baked spread melted butter on its surface and sprinkle the mixture of ground cinnamon and powdered Erythritol on top.
