Chocolate Sour Cream Bundt Cake
I am a big fan of bundt cakes; they are super easy to put together and don't need any decoration. I just made this Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake With Cake Mix last week, and it was SO good!
This chocolate bundt cake with sour cream is every chocolate lover's dream. It is soft, fluffy and super chocolaty. Also, the ganache adds an extra delicious chocolate layer to this bundt cake.
But honestly, sour cream is the star of this recipe; it adds moisture and flavour to this cake.
I also add ½ cup of hot water, and this is magic; it improves the texture significantly. I didn't add hot water the first time I made this cake, and the texture wasn't good.
When it comes to cocoa powder or chocolate, I always like to use high-quality products because I know how much they affect my baking taste.
The chocolate sprinkles were my daughter's idea; she liked to help me decorate the cake, and it turned out so beautifully.
Ingredients You Will Need
Note: This is an overview of the ingredients. See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Flour: I tested this recipe with all-purpose flour.
Eggs: I used 3 large eggs.
Baking powder: A leavening agent to give the cake a fluffy texture.
Cocoa powder: I used natural, high-quality cocoa powder for better results.
Granulated sugar: The main sweetener for this cake.
Oil: used vegetable oil and it give the cake a moist texture.
Sour cream: It help in making the cake super soft and fluffy. You can replace sour cream with Greek yoghurt.
Vanilla extract: To add a flavor.
Fort the Ganache, I used dark chocolate and heavy cream and then topped with chocolate sprinkles.
Tip: Use high-quality chocolate; it is so essential for the best flavour.
How To Make Chocolate Sour Cream Bundt Cake?
Preheat the oven to 180c / 350f, grease a bundt pan generously with butter.
Tip: Make sure to grease your bundt pan with butter well; You don’t want the cake to stick in it.
Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk eggs with vanilla extract using the electric hand mixer. Add sugar and oil to the egg mixture and whisk until the mixture becomes fluffy.
Then, mix flour, baking powder and cocoa powder until well combined. Mix in sour cream and hot water until incorporated.
Bake: Pour the mixture into the bundt pan then bake for 40-45 minutes.
Allow the cake to cool down until making the ganache.
Tip: Allow the cake to cool for 10-15 minutes before removing it from the bundt pan.
Make the ganache: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream (not boil just heat it) after that pour it over the chocolate and whisk until the chocolate melts.
Tip: If you want the ganache to be thicker, add less cream and vice versa. So, the ratio of cream to chocolate in making the ganache affects the thickness. Also, note that ganache will firm up when it gets colder.
Pour the ganache over the bundt cake then add the sprinkles.

Wonderful in every way, EXCEPT... mine turned out a bit dry. I'm not sure why. I didn't mix it too much, and I followed the recipe fairly exactly.
