What Is Strawberry Tart Made Of?

Pie Crust. You can buy or make your own pie crust for this recipe. If you are short on time and just want a quick fix for your tart cravings, then store-bought pie crust is the most suitable for you. You may then start from scratch if you have leisure time for this recipe.

Heavy Cream. Heavy cream helps in creaming and thickening the filling. It goes hand in hand with cream cheese.

Cream Cheese. An ideal filling for your tart is obviously cream cheese, with its mild sweetness and extra tang. It gives a mouthful feel to your tart as well.

Granulated Sugar. It will quickly dissolve in your cream cheese mixture, which makes it the best and ideal sweetener for the filling.

Lemon Juice and Zest. Lemon juice and zest add more depth of flavor to your tart. If you use these two correctly, it can even enhance the texture of your filling to be just as creamy and thick but somewhat intact.

Vanilla Extract. Vanilla extract enhances the flavor of your tart, so be sure to add some drops of it.

Fresh Strawberries. Fresh strawberries are the starring ingredient of the dish, be sure you got plenty of them to have your whole tart cover in them!

How To Make The Best Strawberry Tart - Step By Step

Press the pie crust into an 11" tart pan, trim the edges and then prick all over with a fork; finally, bake for 28-30 minutes or until golden. Let it cool completely.

Make the pie filling: In a mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

In another large bowl, beat cream cheese, lemon juice and zest, vanilla and sugar until soft.

Now, fold the heavy cream into the cream cheese mixture, then scoop it into the crust.

Starting on the outside, arrange strawberries on top of the tart in a circle until the entire tart is covered.

    Top Tips!

    • Chill this Strawberry Tart in the fridge before serving it. This allows for all the flavors to be more evident and all the while improving the texture of the tart as well.
    • Slice the strawberries half before topping it to your tart, this will allow for an easier serving.
    • Refrigerate the cream cheese filling before scooping it up into your crust. Chilled cream cheese will hold the strawberry toppings a whole lot better.
    • Grease the bottom of the pie crust with unsalted butter before baking it to avoid the crust sticking to the pan.

    Recipe Variations

    • You can substitute the cream cheese with greek yogurt if the former is unavailable, but the latter is. It will give the same thick and tangy filling you will love in your tart.
    • Add a small pinch of salt to your filling mixture just to help the vanilla extract in balancing all the flavors.
    • Top your Strawberry Tart with whip cream, a simple topping that easily complements the strawberries.
    • You may use Red Currant Jam to brush the strawberries on top of your tart. This will give an extra luscious color while also sweetening the strawberries more.
