If you have ever eaten Biscoff cookies, this recipe probably does not require any introduction. The same sweet and spicy flavour with the crumbly and chewy texture but without the guilt of unhealthy eating is basically Biscoff Porridge in a nutshell.

Without further ado, let’s dive right into the recipe of this Porridge that your family is sure to ask for seconds and even thirds of – it is not even an exaggeration!

    Why Does This Recipe Work

    • This porridge, being sweet and creamy, is a healthy breakfast disguised in deliciousness for the kids to savour.
    • Porridge is a filling breakfast. Your family is sure to give you a break from the kitchen until lunchtime after having Biscoff Porridge for breakfast.
    • The recipe is extremely quick and easy to make. You will have steaming Porridge ready on your table in as few as ten minutes.
    • This recipe calls for only 3 main ingredients. Moreover, these ingredients can be found in almost every grocery store across the world. If not, you can easily order them online. Thus, making a delicious breakfast is not a headache anymore.
    • There is a wide range of options when it comes to topping the Porridge. From tangy to nutty to sweet toppings, this porridge can be made to cater to the personal preference of everyone present at the breakfast table.

    Biscoff Porridge Ingredients

Biscoff Spread. It is what makes this recipe special. Smooth Biscoff Spread is what you might want to go for in this case.

Rolled Oats. There will be no Porridge without oats. Rolled Oats are the best variety for this recipe because they soak up the liquid pretty well and hold their shape too.

Milk. You can use any milk, but using Cow’s Milk for the recipe will add its own subtly sweet flavour to the recipe. Using whole milk will contribute to making the Porridge super creamy.

Fresh Strawberries (optional). Fresh strawberries will be used to top the dish. This will not only add to the aesthetic of the Porridge but also add a delicious fruity flavour to the recipe.

    How To Make Biscoff Porridge?

    steps of making the recipe
    1. Mix oats and milk in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 2-3 minutes, frequently stirring, until the mixture is creamy.
    2. Turn off the heat and stir in the Biscoff spread. Mix well until the Biscoff spread is melted.
    3. Transfer the Porridge to a serving bowl, and top it with strawberries and some milk. Drizzle some melted Biscoff on top.

    Top Tips!

    • Instant oats soak up the liquid really fast and become mushy. On the other hand, steel-cut oats take a lot of time and tend to be chewy and dense. Thus, avoid these varieties of oats.
    • Once the Porridge is taken off from the heat, it starts to thicken. Feel free to add the desired quantity of milk to it at this point to achieve the desired consistency.

    Some Variations

    • You can swap out the strawberries for raspberries or blueberries or just use combinations of more than one kind of berry.
    • Sliced bananas, apples, and kiwis are often used to top oatmeal.
    • Many prefer adding a pinch of cinnamon to the bowl of Porridge because it gives a lovely flavour.
    • Nut butters, if no one is allergic to them, are great at adding flavour to the Porridge.
    • A hint of honey, maple syrup, or vanilla extract work wonders by adding subtle flavours to the Oats.
    • For added crunch and flavour to your porridge, you can top it with sunflower seeds, flax seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios, walnuts, or whatever other kinds of nuts and seeds that your brain can conjure up.
    • Edible flowers are a great topping option if you want to flaunt your breakfast on your Instagram stories.
    • You can drizzle some chocolate sauce or caramel sauce on top.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Porridge is best served as soon as it is prepared.
    • Since porridge is filling on its own, you can serve it alongside nothing more than a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice, and it will still be a complete breakfast.
    • If you want to give the impression of a lavish treat, include a platter of fruits alongside the bowl of oatmeal.
    • For a very milk-based breakfast, you can opt to serve milkshakes or smoothies with the bowl of this porridge.

    Storage

Make-Ahead of Time: For the taste and texture of this porridge recipe to be at its best, it should be eaten fresh. However, to cut down on the preparation time, you can soak the Rolled Oats in Milk and Biscoff Spread overnight so that they are easier to boil the next morning.

To Store: Pack your oats properly in an airtight container, and they will keep for up to five days in the fridge. If you are the kind of person who is okay with eating something cold for breakfast, you can simply take it out and enjoy your porridge chilled.

To Freeze: Biscoff Porridge, if frozen, can be preserved for around three months. You can microwave it straight away after you take it out.

Reheating Instructions: Biscoff Porridge, like any other variation of Porridge, thickens upon cooling. Thus, add in more milk before you reheat it in the microwave. Gently reheat the porridge, and you will be ready to roll; you do not need to boil it again.
