    This baked honey glazed salmon is a flavourful Asian style salmon dish. Tender salmon fillets marinated in soy, garlic, and honey sauce and baked to perfection. Easy and simple weeknight dinner that will be ready in just 20 minutes.

    Serve this honey glazed salmon dish with Pasta With Mixed Vegetables, Creamy Avocado Sauce Pasta or Mushroom Fried Rice.

    This baked honey glazed salmon is so tender and delicious also it is super tasty especially if you marinate it in its savoury and sweet sauce for a couple of hours. Don't like marinating or don't have time for it, don't worry, it will still be super delicious without marinating as well.

    Cooking salmon in the oven is the best way for anyone to have an easy healthy dinner. All you need to do is combine all the marinade ingredients then toss the salmon fillet in the sauce and marinate for a couple of hours then bake, and the best oven-baked salmon will be ready in just 10-15 minutes.

    To prepare this healthy baked salmon, you need the following ingredients.

    • Salmon filets: you may use skin-off or skin-on salmon filets.
    • Sesame oil: It adds a delicious nutty flavor to your dish. 
    • Soy sauce: It adds amazing flavor.
    • Garlic: Use fresh garlic.
    • Ginger: It has so many benefits, and it adds a spicy flavor.
    • Honey: you may use brown sugar or maple syrup instead.
    • Salt & Ground black pepper: To taste.

    Variations & Substitutions

    • Add some heat to your salmon and sprinkle some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper on top.
    • Add in some lime juice or lemon juice.

    How To Make Baked Honey Glazed Salmon

    Steps of making the recipe.

    One - Prepare the salmon: Rinse the salmon then pat it dry with a kitchen towel (photo 1).

    Two - Make the marinade: In a medium bowl, add the garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, ginger, salt and pepper, stir until well combined (photo 2).

    Three - Marinate the salmon: Toss the salmon in the bowl and leave it to marinate for 2-3 hours (if you have time for it) (photo 3 & 4).

    Four - Bake: Place salmon fillets in a single layer, skin side down in a baking pan and bake at 200C/392F for 15 minutes (photo 5).

    Five - Garnish: I like to garnish with some sesame seeds or chopped green onion, to make the dish looks pleasant. Finally serve and enjoy.

    Top Tips!

    • For a best result, use fresh salmon.
    • You can use any type of salmon you prefer, farmed salmon or wild salmon.
    • Don't overbake; once the internal temperature of your salmon reaches 145 degrees F, it is fully cooked, according to the FDA.

    How to Serve

    Serve this dish with Sauteed Whole Mushroom, Veggie Egg Fried Rice, Seaweed Rice Balls.

    You can also serve with pasta: Pasta with Breadcrumbs, Vegetable Pasta Bake or Sesame Peanut Noodles.

    With salad: Smoked Salmon Pasta Salad, Malfouf Salad, Elote Corn Salad or Spicy Potato Salad.

    Yes, you can cook it in a non-stick, hot pan for about 10 minutes.

    Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.

    Is this recipe keto friendly?

    This salmon recipe has one tablespoon of honey, which is not suitable for the keto diet; in order to make it low carb and keto-friendly you must replace this amount of honey with pure maple syrup or any sugar substitute.

    What herb or spice goes well with baked salmon?

    To cook a flavorful salmon, you need to season it. Here are some seasoning options you can use: Onion powder, garlic powder, paprika or cumin. You can also use some herbs, such as dill, thyme, rosemary or parsley.

    Do i have to marinate the salmon?

    No, you don't. However, marinated salmon tastes better.

    How to know if the salmon is done?

    Press the top of one salmon fillet with a fork if the flesh flakes off easily. It is done.

    Ingredients

    • 3 pieces salmon fillet
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 4 cloves garlic minced
    • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger chopped
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon salt

    Instructions
