    The sticky Chinese chicken drumsticks recipe is such a popular Chinese-style chicken recipe that everyone loves.

    The chicken drumsticks are marinated in a sweet sticky sauce made with soy sauce, honey and fresh ginger and garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onion for a quick and flavorful dinner option.

    The marinade is the secret of this dish. However, it only has a few ingredients; it gives this recipe a super delicious taste. The combination of honey and soy sauce gives these Chinese chicken drumsticks the stickiness and the excellent colour while ginger and garlic give them a fantastic taste. Honestly, this marinade makes this chicken drumsticks recipe addicting.

    • Chicken drumsticks
    • Olive oil
    • Chilli powder
    • Ginger
    • Garlic
    • Sesame oil
    • Soy sauce

    • Green onion, chopped

    How To Make Chinese Chicken Drumsticks With Soy Sauce And Honey

    Preparing the chicken drumsticks: Wash the chicken drumsticks then pat dry with kitchen paper.

    Cooking: After that, pour the olive oil in a large skillet then add the chicken drumsticks and cook on high flame for 5 minutes until the chicken drumsticks become a little brown.

    Adding the sauce: Add the soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil, vinegar, garlic and chilli powder mix everything then add the water and bring to boil.

    Simmering: Lower the flame and let the chicken simmer for another 15 minutes.

    Then, bring the high flame back and let the sauce reduce and thicken.

    Put the chicken in a plate then pour the sauce on the top of it.

    Serving: Garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!.

    Tips and variations

    • Use any cut of the chicken you want.
    • Skip the chilli powder if you don't like it spicy.
    • Replace chilli powder with a few drops of sriracha sauce.
    • Don't cook the chicken on high heat; otherwise, it will burn from the outside and will not be fully cooked from the inside. So, keep the heat low.

    • 10 chicken drumsticks
    • 2 tablespoon olive oil
    • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder
    • 2 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
    • 4 cloves garlic minced
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • ⅓ cup soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 tablespoon vinegar
    • ¾ cup water
    • 1 tablespoon green onion chopped
    • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

      In the instruction you mentioned vinegar but it's not written ingredients.

        You need to add 1 tbsp vinegar.
