I am making this shrimp in tomato sauce recipe for the first time, and I love it! I find it quick, flavorful, and ready in less than 10 minutes.

A tender shrimp cooked in a spicy, garlicky tomato sauce. Yum! Serve it with bread or over pasta or rice.
You'll Need
Before we jump to the recipe, let me tell you what ingredients you'll need.
- Shrimp: I used fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined.
- Tomato sauce: Use good quality tomato sauce.
- Sweet and Chili sauce: Any kind you have at home.
- Garlic: Fresh!
- Salt: To taste.
- Red pepper flakes: If it is not available, use chili powder instead.
- Chinese 5 spices: My secret ingredient.
- Sesame oil: To give the dish a nutty flavor.

How To Make Shrimp In Tomato Sauce

One: Heat the sesame oil over medium heat in a pan, add the minced garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
Two: Add the shrimp, tomato sauce, sweet and chili sauce, red pepper flakes, Chinese 5 spices and salt.
Three: Cook for 2-3 minutes over medium heat, until the shrimp turn into pink.
Four: Serve and enjoy!
Top Tips!
- Don’t overcook the shrimp! It usually takes 2–3 minutes per side for them to turn pink.
- Use quality tomatoes! It makes a big difference in flavor.
- If you don't like spicy food, just skip the red pepper flakes.

Storage
- To store: Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days.
- Freezing: This dish can be frozen for 1-2 months, no problem.
- To reheat: Allow it to defrost to the room temperature, then reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave.

- 2 teaspoon sweet and chilli sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon chinese 5 spices
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Heat the sesame oil over medium heat in a pan, add the minced garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
